Taking stocks of the International Year of Indigenous Languages

The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues has published a report summarising the activities carried out during the International Year of Indigenous Languages (AILA 2020). The document provides an overview of the main activities carried out by international, regional, national and local institutions in 78 different countries. The AILA website, which served as the basis for the report, has registered more than 900 initiatives linked to the project, ranging from awareness-raising activities to cultural and academic events, including online initiatives and launches of publications. The document also reports on the media coverage of the Year, which has been very positively assessed. You can access it here: https://undocs.org/en/E/C.19/2020/9
