We are pleased to announce that the last Assembly of Linguapax International has elected Mònica Pereña, an expert in multilingualism and education, as the President of the Executive Board. We also welcome Mercè Solé, specialist in language planning, as the new Secretary and Eva Pons, expert in language law, as the Treasurer. The outgoing president, Carme Arenas will remain part of the board, together with Maria Areny, Emili Boix and Miquel Strubell. We are glad that Fèlix Martí, will continue granting his support in this new stage as our Honorary President.
Mònica Pereña feels honoured to take up the torch and is fully aware of the challenges awaiting her in this mission to consolidate Linguapax internationally. Her objectives for this mandate include giving greater emphasis to projects related to plurilingual and intercultural education, increasing and intensifying the range of advisory services directed to governments, organisations and private companies that are sensitive to the values of language diversity and respectful of language rights, and encouraging actions that promote the digital presence of languages and the development of technological resources oriented to facilitating multilingual communications.
