Language, cultures, music and peace
Frances Fister-Stoga, member of the Linguapax Advisory Board, is currently working on a project looking at the peace work of Daniel Barenboim (East-West Divan Orchestra) and Jordi Savall in terms of music as a language of peace, as well as the preservation of languages and cultures through music. The project is based on several ideas in Matthew Arnold's work Culture and Anarchy (1869) and is founded on the etymology of Linguapax: language ("lingua") and peace ("pax").
