A one-day programme to reflect on the context, challenges and projects of linguistic revitalization in Latin America.
The head of the Linguapax delegation in Latin America (José Antonio Flores Farfán) will present recent initiatives aimed at empowering speakers of native languages as managers of cultural and linguistic revitalization in their region; a round-table will serve as a platform for discussion about three complementary prespectives of cultural revitalization: cultural policies (Alfons Martinell), the conservation of linguistic diversity (Carme Junyent), education and social action (Jordi Sabater); a workshop will offer a tour around American indigenous languages and will deal with the production of material in local and languages and genders.
