Following the 1st International Conference on Law, Language and Discourse (20-21 August 2011) in Hong Kong, we are pleased to announce that the 2nd International Conference on Law, Language and Discourse will be hosted in Hangzhou, PRC, 20-22 April 2012.

Call for Papers:
The 2nd International Conference on Law, Language and Discourse, associated with Multicultural Association of Law and Language, invites theoretical studies, applicational cases, and relevant work-in-progress papers on the key issues in Law, Language and Discourse. The theme of the conference 'Multiculturalism, Multimodality and Multidimensionality' promotes research of, and welcomes participation from, researchers of different cultural and language backgrounds from different disciplines and across jurisdictions. The subthemes include but are not limited to:
- Legislative language and discourse
- Courtroom language and discourse
- Corpus Linguistics and legal discourse
- Investigation and Interrogation discourse
- Intelligence analysis and legal discourse
- Legal lexicography
- Law and semiotics
All accepted papers will be included in the Proceedings of LLD 2012, which are indexed by CPCI-SSH/ISSHP. Selected peer-reviewed papers will be invited for publication at an edited volume to be published and a special issue of International Journal of Law, Language and Discourse.
