Voices of Europe in Fryslân
Voices of Europe is a singing week for young people from different minority language regions in Europe. FYK (youth organization Frisian International Contact) is the organizer of this years' edition. The choir consists of 40 youngsters from for instance Germany (Sorbs), Poland (Kashubs) and Romania (Aromanians). Conductor Peter Shannon, an Irishman who lives in the USA, is the musical leader. Singing together is a way to make the exchange of ideas and experiences with the minority language situation easier. Besides singing, the organizing committee makes an effort to let the participants feel what Fryslân is all about.
At the end of the week, there will be three concerts in Leeuwarden, Sneek and Engelum. We would like to welcome you to these (free) concerts.
Friday 8 July: Het Bolwerk - Sneek (start 19.30, doors open 19.00)
Saturday 9 July: De Prinsentuin - Leeuwarden (start 13.30)
Saturday 9 July: Church - Engelum (start 20.00, doars open 19.30)
