Call For abstracts
This two-day symposium will be held at the University of Melbourne from Thursday 18 to Friday 19 August, 2011. It is co-sponsored by RNLD (with funding from the Maintenance of Indigenous Languages and Records scheme), Linguapax (UNESCO Center of Catalonia), the Consortium on Training in Language Documentation and Conservation, and the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts (the University of California at Santa Barbara, USA).

The symposium will bring together agencies which are actively developing and implementing diverse training strategies to support Indigenous languages across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. It will provide an opportunity to learn more about our respective training strategies and enable us to consider ways in which we might strengthen cooperation and collaboration between programs.

You will have 20 minutes for your presentation. Each session will include 3 presentations, and there will be a 30-minute Q&A at the end of each session to discuss the issues raised in the presentations.

We are now calling for abstracts and brief biographies from all participants. In a 200 word abstract, please identify the training program or strategy on which you will present, the region it covers, and the key issues that will be highlighted.
In a 100-word biography, please introduce yourself and relevant aspects of your background and career. We would appreciate submission of both of these documents by Friday 8 July to allow us to continue with our planning and preparation of the program. Receipt of the abstract and biography will also confirm your participation.

Please submit your abstract and biography as Word documents to the organisers on <(Necessites javascript per veure aquest correu-e)>.
