The Linguistic Society of America has passed a resolution urging President Obama to sign the Executive Order on Native American Language Revitalization and to ensure the implementation of the policies and procedures in that order.
The resolution also "urges the United States government to take immediate executive and legislative actions to ensure continued funding of the NSF/NEH Documenting Endangered Languages Program, the language-related programs supported by the Administration for Native Americans, and other federal programs that support the efforts of Native American communities to preserve and revitalize their languages and to transmit them to future generations".
The Draft Executive Order on Native American languages (drafted by the National Indian Education Association's White House Native Languages Working Group) can be downloaded from the LSA resolution page linked above.
