Languages are historical human monuments, remnants of cultures that have sadly been forgotten in parts of the world, yet they are still alive in the minds and on the tongues of their speakers. The preservation, protection, documentation and study of these languages are crucial for future generations to be able to know the breadth and the mind boggling diversity of human interaction that is embedded in our society's history.
