Pakistan has six major and fiftyeight minor languages. This astonishing diversity however, brings with it complications and disparities that need to be addressed and reconciled by the society and the government of Pakistan. The author highlights many issues regarding language policy in Pakistan with the problematic class issues of the English language, the differences in literacy among the population, the relationship between languages (economic, and gender based issues) linked to the availability of technology.
