Now, I think this is a very lofty goal that Noel has put forward, but if you look at people like Alison Anderson and Bess Price, they are fluent in many Aboriginal languages. They are people of law and culture and language, but they are also extremely capable of operating at the very top of the general Australian community. Va ser un dels pares fundadors de la filosofia Linguapax i enguany havia estat guardonat amb el Premi Linguapax 2010. Havia de rebre aquest premi en el marc d'una cerimònia prevista el proper 21 de maig a la Universitat de Barcelona. S'ha mantingut la convocatòria, malgrat la seva absència, per tal que aquest acte de lliurament pòstum sigui l'ocasió de retre homenatge a un dels nostres acadèmics i activistes més rellevants, pioner de la promoció del multilingüisme. La mort de Miquel Siguan representa una gran pèrdua per a la comunitat internacional, per raó del seu treball incansable a favor de l’educació i de la cultura multilingüe i deixa un buit insalvable a la família Linguapax.
